A thought for the guys
Feb. 26th, 2007 11:11 amIf you're either going to get married or have recently gotten married and your girl tells you that you need to get rid of all your comics, figures, video games, collectables, etc... RUN AWAY! She is not going to be good for you in the long run. If she can't accept who you are, what you like, and what you think is fun, hit that door. She doesn't have to like it, but forcing you to change to suit her idea of what "Should" be is wrong and shows she's too controlling. Making you choose between your interests and her is not fair. There's room for both. Probably insecure about you keeping your own life. You know "We're married so our life is ALWAYS shared." Then she'll complain about never seeing her friends... If she pulls the "You're married now and it's time for you to grow up," shtick just walk on. People like that tend to worry about stupid stuff too much anyway. You don't want that. Being responsible does NOT mean becoming boring. I mean if you got a girl to marry you and you still spent money for all your cool gear, you can't be THAT irresponsible right?
I've seen too many times the tragic tale of Dude a few years after getting married hanging out with his single friends again going "Oh I had a huge collection, but my wife made me get rid of it all when we got married." I've seen said collections on ebay. Sad sad sad.
